Hunan beef

I love spicy food and red chilies with beef is probably one of the best combo. I have made this dish multiple times and love it. I used whole red chilies but would suggest to dice it next time to release more heat.

  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 lb flank steak

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp red chilies (seeded, diced)
  • toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp green onions

  1. Slice flank steak and put them in marinate for 30 min
  2. Dice garlic, ginger, red chilies; chop onion
  3. Pan fry flank steak until medium rare, take them out and put aside
  4. Drain the pan and leave 2 tbsp oil
  5. In the pan, heat garlic, onion, ginger until garlic releases aroma and onions soften
  6. Toss in rest of the seasoning besides sesame oil and green onion; heat it for 2 min then toss in beef
  7. Stir fry for another min, toss in toasted sesame oil and green onion
  8. Done!
