BAKED SEAFOOD PASTA W/ CREAM SAUCE – HONG KONG STYLE

A popular Hong Kong style dish – baked seafood pasta with cream sauce. You can find this dish in most of the cafes in Hong Kong. It’s a blend of Western and Asian flavor and it is absolutely delicious and comforting.

Ingredients (2 people’s portion):

  • 1/2 lb Salmon
  • 1/2 lb Shrimps
  • Spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp All-purpose flour

Steps:

  1. Cook pasta according to instruction; reserve one cup of pasta water and drain
  2. Heat butter on a saucepan, add flour and mix them together
  3. Pour milk into the butter mixture, sprinkle salt and pepper then turn on medium heat until sauce thicken
  4. On a glass pan, put the pasta at the bottom, then layer on the salmon and shrimp, pour the milk mixture on top then sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top
  5. Bake 350 degree for 15 min; then broil on high heat for 5 min until the cheese turns golden brown

*Note: wait till the cream mixture turns thick (see picture below) before pouring onto the pasta
